Architect Aaron Beyers has conceptualized a sustainable housingsolution to educate those less familiar with concepts of green livingand being able to co-exist with the natural environment. Utilizingpassive solar housing techniques, the sustainable dwelling takesadvantage of sun’s energy for heating and illumination.
The architects aim to create the building from recycled materialssuch as salvaged steel from local industrial zones and timber. The house is intended to be assembled as a series of prototypical, prefabricatedcomponents that minimize cost, labor and site impact.
The design incorporates several systems to control natural breezesand sunlight and reduce energy consumption. A series of prefabricatedfaçade and roof panels are used and are independently operable tomaximize interior comfort. The roof also incorporates an accessiblegreen roof system that is used for cooling purposes within the house.
